Two people, one trip, edited live
You make the trip and send one link set to Can edit. Sam joins with a free account and adds Two Jack Lake to day 2 while you move lunch; each change shows on the other screen in about a second. Comments sit on the stop they are about, so “is this the good place?” is next to the place, and a catch-up strip shows either of you what changed since you last looked.
Editing seats and viewers
The host’s plan sets how many people can edit each trip they own. Viewers do not use an editing seat, so the rest of the group can follow along on any plan, and once the editing seats are full new people join through the link as viewers. Nobody needs a paid plan to join someone else’s trip.
- Free: 1 invited editor per trip, trips up to 7 days
- Pro, $4.99 CAD a month: 3 invited editors per trip, trips up to 30 days
- Discovery, $9.99 CAD a month: 10 invited editors per trip, trips up to 60 days
Split costs, started on Pro
Starting a trip budget or the cost split takes Pro or Discovery, for whoever on the trip starts it; the host’s plan does not decide it. Once a trip has one, costs sit on stops, receipts attach to the trip, and everyone with edit rights can add to it, whatever their own plan. Treader keeps the running split between people with a settle-up that says who pays whom.
Start from a trip, then invite
An organiser gets further with a draft the group can react to. Open a ready-made trip, copy it into your account, set your dates, then invite one editor to change it with you. Every plan also gets the shared album, a calendar feed that follows the plan, and Trip check, one list of what could still go wrong.
From a chat to a map
Already have an itinerary from ChatGPT or Claude? Paste it.
Paste the day-by-day answer and every stop lands on a real map, on the right day, with the driving time between stops. Treader then checks what the chat could not: whether you can reach each stop in time, where a day runs past sunset, and which days are public holidays where you are going. Free, no card.
Read on your device. Nothing is sent until you start.

Frequently asked questions
Do my friends need accounts or paid plans?
They need a free account to edit, and never a paid plan. Anyone with the invite link can see the plan and join. The host’s plan sets how many can edit: 1 on Free, 3 on Pro, 10 on Discovery. Everyone else joins as a viewer, which does not use an editing seat.
What happens when two people edit at once?
Everyone works on the same live trip, edits appear for the whole group as they are made, and a change log records who added or moved each stop. A catch-up strip summarizes what you missed since your last visit, so nobody has to re-read the whole plan.
Can we split costs?
Yes. Someone on the trip with Pro or Discovery starts the split; after that every editor can add costs and receipts, whatever their own plan, and the split stays current as the plan changes.
How is this better than a shared doc?
A doc holds text about places; Treader holds the places. Stops sit on a real map with the travel time between them, Trip check flags a day that runs past dark, and the plan you built is the plan you open on the trip itself.
