From a chat to a map

Already asked ChatGPT? Paste it

Paste the day-by-day answer from ChatGPT or Claude. Every stop lands on a real map, on the right day, with the travel time between stops. Anything it can’t place is listed, never guessed.

Then it checks what the chat could not

  • A stop you can’t reach in time Every leg is timed on the map, so a stop set before you could get there is flagged.
  • A day that doesn’t fit Hours at the stops plus the travel between them, against the clock.
  • A stop that runs past sunset Sunset on your dates, where the day is.
  • A night with nowhere to sleep Any night without a hotel or a camp in the plan.

All itineraries

What it does

Plan the whole day, not just the list

Stops, legs, times and money sit in one plan, so when one of them moves, the rest of the day moves with it.

One clock/Free

Walking and driving on one clock

Every stop sits at its time and every leg takes its minutes, so you can see where the day is tight and where it has room.

  • Across the three days: 19 h 45 at stops, 3 h 03 walking, 2 h 34 driving, 35 min on transit and 9 h 48 free.
  • Day 1, 09:00 to 21:15: 7 h at stops, 18 min walking, 34 min driving, and 4 h 23 free.
  • Day 2, 07:00 to 19:30: 6 h 15 at stops, 2 h 45 walking, 1 h 02 driving, 35 min on transit, and 1 h 53 free.
  • Day 3, 09:00 to 20:00: 6 h 30 at stops, 0 min walking, 58 min driving, and 3 h 32 free.

Trip check/Free

Catch the holiday before you drive there

Trip check reads every day against public holidays on your dates, sunset and how full the day is, then lists what needs a look. On Pro it reads each place's opening hours too.

  • Public holidays
  • After dark
  • Day too full
  • Opening hours On Pro

Retime/Free

Add a stop, then fix the day in one tap

Treader flags the stop you can no longer reach. Tap Fix timing and it pushes back only what overlaps, walk or drive included.

Day 1 in Treader with Whyte Museum added after Banff Avenue. Fix timing moves Cascade of Time Gardens from 10:30 to 11:40 and Park Distillery from 12:00 to 12:33, and Banff Gondola keeps 14:00 with 4 minutes to spare.

Scout/15 free a month

An assistant that reads your plan

A chat app knows only what you paste into it. Scout works inside the trip, and what it proposes goes in with one tap and comes out with one Undo.

Scout reads

  • Every stop, time and drive in the trip
  • Your pace, diet, access needs and must-avoids
  • The forecast, once a day has a date
  • Real places near the day, from a live search

A traveller asks Scout: We leave the Fairmont at 4:30. What are we missing on the way back?

Scout answers: Morant’s Curve is 20 minutes down the Bow Valley Parkway. Stop there at 5:30 for the evening light and day two still ends at 7:30pm at the lodge. That is a long day after a 7am start, so I have left the evening open and moved the good meal to day three, where you end in town anyway.

The changes it proposed, applied in one tap: Added Morant’s Curve to day two, 5:30pm. Moved The Maple Leaf to day three, 6:30pm. Applied in one tap. Undo puts the plan back.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they plan a first trip. The docs go further.

Read the docs
01 How is this different from asking an AI for an itinerary?

A chatbot writes the itinerary once and hands it back as text you still have to turn into a trip. Scout works inside the plan with you. It can already see what you have built, so you can ask it to fill the gap on Tuesday or find dinner near your last stop, and what it suggests arrives as stops on the map that you can drag, retime, swap or undo in one tap. It also keeps the preferences you set once, the pace you like, what you eat, what you would rather skip, so you are not re-explaining yourself every time you ask it something.

02 Is the free plan really free?

Yes. $0, forever, no card and no trial clock. You get as many trips as you like at up to 7 days each, one person to plan each one with (everyone else you invite follows along), and 15 Scout messages a month. Upgrade only when you outgrow it.

03 Do my friends need to pay to plan with me?

No. Joining someone else’s trip is always free. Hosting is the part that scales with your plan: one editor on Free, three on Pro, ten on Discovery. Everyone else you invite follows along free.

04 What is Scout?

Scout is the planning assistant built into the app. It has read your itinerary, so you can ask what Tuesday is missing or where to eat near your last stop, and it answers with places that fit the day, then makes the change for you to keep or undo. Free includes 15 messages a month. Pro raises that to 100 and gives Scout more to work with, including the full detail on every place it suggests. Discovery is unlimited for your own trip planning.

05 Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, in a couple of clicks. Prices are in CAD: Pro is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year, which saves 17%. Discovery is $9.99 or $99.99. You keep access until the period ends, and your trips, spots and notes stay yours after that.

06 What is the flight-disruption claim?

Canada’s air passenger protection rules entitle you to compensation when a flight is delayed long enough or you get bumped: up to $1,000 CAD for a delay on a large airline, and $2,400 CAD for bumping. Most people never claim it. Discovery drafts the claim from your booking.

07 Can I get my bookings into the trip without typing them?

Yes. Paste anything takes the confirmation email, the booking PDF, a link or a screenshot, and lists the flights, stays, places and the amount paid for you to tick onto the trip. Discovery also gives you an address to forward confirmations to, which does the same reading and leaves the result waiting for you. Nothing ever reads your inbox, and nothing is added until you tick it. Every plan can paste places and receipts; on Discovery the flights and stays also file themselves into the travel vault.

08 Where do the places come from?

Map search and discovery run on Google’s live place data, the same source behind Google Maps, on every plan including Free. Full detail on a place, its photos, reviews and opening hours, comes with Pro and Discovery. Community spots are pinned by travellers who have been there.

So, why’d I build Treader?

Planning shouldn’t be a hassle.

I’m Logan. I take photographs, and I spend a good chunk of the year planning trips and trying to be everywhere at once. Too many of those trips never left the group chat, and I’d end up watching someone else’s video of the place we kept saying we’d go.

The planning tools didn’t help. Most were too limited, none let me plan with the people I actually travel with, and more than once I turned up at a spot that didn’t exist. So I built the thing I wanted: a map I can trust, with my friends planning on it beside me. Treader is for people who want to plan together and get out there.

Plan less, live more.

Logan, Treader
