How the import reads your text

Save it, and Trip check reads every day for

  • A stop you can’t reach in time Every leg is timed on the map, so a stop set before you could get there is flagged.
  • A day that doesn’t fit Hours at the stops plus the travel between them, against the clock.
  • A stop that runs past sunset Sunset on your dates, where the day is.
  • A night with nowhere to sleep Any night without a hotel or a camp in the plan.

Three ways to start

Start from what you already have

  1. 01

    Paste an itinerary

From a chat, or notes with a heading for each day and a bullet for each stop. Each stop lands on its day, on one map.

  2. 02

    Copy a ready-made trip

45 itineraries with every stop on a map, from a day trip to 10 days on the road. Read one in full, then copy it and change what you like.

  3. 03

    Start from a route

Name where the drive starts and ends. Price the fuel or split it into days on the road, then save it as a trip.

Keep it usable

A plan you can use on the road

Trip check reads every day before you go, and the plan goes with you on your phone. Pro keeps the map working offline and rewrites the rest of the day when it goes sideways.

Trip check/Free

Catch the holiday before you drive there

Trip check reads every day against public holidays on your dates, sunset and how full the day is, then lists what needs a look. On Pro it reads each place's opening hours too.

Scout/15 free a month

An assistant that reads your plan

A chat app knows only what you paste into it. Scout works inside the trip, and what it proposes goes in with one tap and comes out with one Undo.

Scout reads

  • Every stop, time and drive in the trip
  • Your pace, diet, access needs and must-avoids
  • The forecast, once a day has a date
  • Real places near the day, from a live search

Plan it alone. Or don’t.

A trip you plan by yourself works exactly the same. Send one link and everyone follows the same map. A friend who edits adds stops you see as they go.

A comment thread on the Moraine Lake stop, day 2 at 07:00. Devon: Seven is brutal. Can we not do eight? Maya: Shuttle seats are gone by eight and the light is flat by nine. Sleep on day three. Priya: Fine. I am not talking until the tea house.
  • Edits land live

A friend pins Lake Agnes from their desk in Toronto and it turns up on your Tuesday a second later.

  • Settle it in the trip

Vote on dinner, pin the winner into the day, and stop arguing about it in the chat at midnight.

  • Guests never pay

Anyone you invite follows along free, whatever plan they’re on. Free plans with one friend; Pro with three.

So, why’d I build Treader?

Planning shouldn’t be a hassle.

I’m Logan. I take photographs, and I spend a good chunk of the year planning trips and trying to be everywhere at once. Too many of those trips never left the group chat, and I’d end up watching someone else’s video of the place we kept saying we’d go.

The planning tools didn’t help. Most were too limited, none let me plan with the people I actually travel with, and more than once I turned up at a spot that didn’t exist. So I built the thing I wanted: a map I can trust, with my friends planning on it beside me. Treader is for people who want to plan together and get out there.

Plan less, live more.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they plan a first trip. The docs go further.

Read the docs
01 How is this different from asking an AI for an itinerary?

A chat writes the plan once, as text. Paste its day-by-day answer here and each stop lands on a map, on its day. Once it is a trip, every leg is timed and Trip check flags what needs a look: a stop you cannot reach in time, a stop that runs past sunset, a public holiday on your dates. Scout, the assistant inside the trip, can fill a gap or find dinner near your last stop, and every change it makes can be undone.

02 Is the free plan really free?

Yes. $0, forever, no card and no trial clock. You get up to 50 trips of up to 7 days each, one person to plan each one with (everyone else you invite follows along), and 15 Scout messages a month. Upgrade only when you outgrow it.

03 Is my pasted itinerary sent anywhere?

Only place names, and only when you ask. The days and stops are read in your browser. Map these stops sends each stop’s name, with its day’s place, to Treader’s place search, which looks it up with a map provider. The rest of the text stays on your device until you save it to your new account; there, a paste without Day headings is read by Scout, Treader’s AI.

04 Do my friends need to pay to plan with me?

No. Joining someone else’s trip is always free. Hosting is the part that scales with your plan: one person can edit with you on Free, 3 people on Pro. Everyone else you invite follows along free. Trip length and editor seats follow the host’s plan; Scout messages and full place detail follow each person’s own plan.

05 Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, in a couple of clicks. Prices are in CAD: Pro is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year, which saves 17%. You keep access until the period ends, and your trips, spots and notes stay yours after that.

Where to first?

Type a place and your first trip is made with your account. Everything after that is the fun part.
