Press New trip in the trip picker at the top of the planner, type a name or a destination, and press Create trip. Dates can wait. What a trip holds, days of stops on a live map, is in How Treader works.

Where to start one

New trip sits in the trip picker's dropdown and at the top of My Trips. A new account's Welcome to Treader card (Start your first trip) and the Getting started checklist open the same form.

What the form asks

  1. 1 Give it a Trip name you will recognize later: "Lisbon in May" beats "Trip 1".
  2. 2 Add a Start date and End date, or press Ask everyone with a date poll to let the group pick first.
  3. 3 Add a Destination and pick a match to pin the map there; a name you never pick takes the top match.
  4. 4 Press Create trip. A name or a destination alone is enough.

More options adds a starting point, a cover, how you'll travel and a note, all optional. The note becomes a page in Notes; everything else changes later from Edit trip details on the current trip in the picker, or from My Trips.

A new trip: the days on the left, the map on the right.

Dates set the day count

Dates give the trip one day each. Without them it starts as one day, Day 1, and Add day in the top bar's Days menu adds more. A trip runs up to 7 days on Free, 30 on Pro ($4.99 CAD a month) and 60 on Discovery ($9.99 CAD a month); a longer range ends on the last day your plan allows, and the form names it.

Inviting people after Create trip

Create trip opens a second step, Who's coming?, with an invite link to share or copy and a search for people already on Treader. Anyone with the link can see the plan and join. Free seats 1 editor beside you, Pro 3, Discovery 10; everyone after that joins view-only. Start planning skips the step, and inviting people works any time from Share. Your garage, your Travel Data vault and your Scout chats stay yours.

Deleting a trip, and getting it back

The X beside a trip in the picker deletes it at once; Delete in Trip hub > Overview asks first. A deleted trip waits in the Deleted filter of My Trips for 30 days, receipts and split included, until you press Restore Trip. On a trip shared with you, both controls leave it instead, and the owner keeps it.

Tip

Trip count is not what an upgrade buys: every plan holds up to 50 trips of your own, deleted ones aside. Paid plans buy length and editing seats, set out in Plans and billing.
