Travel together
Find free overnight spots
If your bed travels with you, the nightly question is always the same: where can I park or pitch without paying, and without a knock on the window at 2 AM? Community spots are built for exactly this kind of local knowledge.
Read the map like a local
- Community spots are the round markers with a ring. Tap one to read what whoever marked it wanted you to know.
- Upvotes are your trust signal. A pullout with 40 upvotes beats a mystery pin every time.
- Timed spots show whether a place is open right now, seasonal closures included.
- Zoom out and spots gather into numbered clusters, which is a quick way to see where the knowledge is thick.
Stash your own finds
Mark your own overnights as Private spots and name them so future you can parse them: "Gravel lot, level, quiet after 10, leave by 8" is a gift to yourself. Travelling in convoy? Friends visibility puts your finds on your mutuals' maps and nobody else's.
Give one back
- 1 Mark the spot and set it to Community.
- 2 Write down what actually matters: noise, level ground, cell signal, signage, how early the delivery trucks arrive.
- 3 Post it. It passes a quick automatic review before joining the shared map, and the useful details are what earn the upvotes.
The unwritten rules
- Arrive late, leave early, and leave nothing. The spots that die are the ones that got loved to death.
- A marker is knowledge, not a permit. Check the signage and local rules when you arrive; they outrank the map.
- If a spot goes bad (new gate, new no-overnight sign), report it from its card so the map stays truthful.
Tip
Overnight rules shift with seasons and bylaws. Trust the map, verify the sign.
