Know when the last train home leaves

On a day that ends late and rides transit back to the bed, Treader checks the end of service against your own finishing time and tells you when to walk out.

Dinner runs to eleven, the hotel is three metro stops away, and the question nobody asks until they are standing on the platform is whether anything still runs. On Pro, the planner asks it for you while you are still building the day.

When it speaks up

The check runs on its own when a day has all of these: the last leg rides transit, it ends at a stay (a hotel or a camp night), and the plan finishes at 20:00 or later. Open that day and the Last train tile in the insight row names the last departure it found, how that compares with your finishing time, and when to leave the last stop to make it. If nothing runs after you finish, it says so, which is the part that matters.

Ask earlier

  1. 1 Open the day in the itinerary panel.
  2. 2 In the insight row, the Last train tile offers When is the last one? whenever the day rides transit to a stay but has not been checked on its own, usually because it finishes before 20:00.
  3. 3 Tap it. Treader checks the end of service for that leg and keeps the answer on the day.

What the answer means

  • The time is a bracket, not a timetable. Treader asks the routing service about a few late departures and keeps the latest one it finds, so the wording is always "about".
  • After midnight counts as later than before midnight. A 00:38 departure sorts after 23:50, which is the only ordering that means what a traveller means by "the last one".
  • A stop with no time set does not count as finishing at midnight. If the check cannot reach the network, the tile lets you ask again rather than going quiet.
  • Transit legs also name the service you ride ("Metro 1", "Bus 44") next to the duration, on every day, not only late ones.

Trip check carries the same answer as a row when the last train leaves before you would, and Today mode shows it on the day itself, so you are reminded at the table rather than on the platform.

Tip

The answer is only as good as your plan. Give the last stop a real finishing time and make sure the day ends at the place you are actually sleeping.
