Keep a Plan B for a day

Keep an idea as one day's fallback, see it under that day's stops, and add it to the day in one tap when rain or a closure changes the plan.

A Plan B is an idea you keep for one day in case that day falls through: rain on the hike day, a sold-out shuttle, a road that closes. It waits in the Ideas pen, the day shows it under its stops, and taking it is one tap.

Keep an idea as a day's Plan B

  1. 1 Press B on a tablet or computer to open the board. The Ideas pen sits beside the day columns.
  2. 2 Click an idea in the pen and pick a day in its Backup… menu.
  3. 3 The card now reads Plan B · Day 2, or whichever day you picked. Not a backup in the same menu clears it.

Where a Plan B shows

In the itinerary, a day with a Plan B gets a Plan B row at the foot of its stops, with how many ideas it holds. The row stays closed, so a planned day still reads as planned.

On a dated day with a forecast, a 50 percent chance of rain or more opens the row by itself and tags it with the chance of rain. That is the only nudge: no banner and no alert.

Use today moves the idea onto the end of that day, the same as dragging any idea out of the pen, and it stops being a Plan B. Then drag it to where it belongs in the day.

On a shared trip

Plan B ideas live in the Ideas pen, which everyone on the trip can see. The owner and editors can keep, clear and use them; a viewer sees them but cannot change them. A trip you publish leaves the Ideas pen out, so its Plan B stays with the people going.
